Located at the doorstep of some of Sri Lanka’s best beaches, Sam & Lola’s is an idyllic tropical hideaway in Sri Lanka’s deep south. The twin villas have been lovingly designed by us and filled with carefully curated decor and furnishings – most of which were handcrafted by local artisans and carpenters. Our space affords guests the perfect balance of barefoot luxury and privacy as well as unrestricted access to what Sri Lanka has to offer. This is your haven – we want our guests to fall in love with Sri Lanka the same way we have.
We’ve scoured the corners of the world to instill our favorite design elements into Sam & Lola’s. Come and check out our cozy and elegant villas to experience the ultimate privacy – without having to compromise on location.
The twin villas in Hiriketiya each feature a private outdoor plunge pool and deck; a king-sized bed complete with luxurious linen bedding; air-conditioning and ceiling fan; outdoor shower and en-suite bathroom; mini kitchenette and fridge with complimentary tea & coffee; safety deposit box; hair dryer; towels and more. Parking is available on request.
The grounds are adorned with lush tropical plants: we even built the villas around existing coconut and mango trees! Villa Sam features a mango tree in the outdoor shower (help yourself to mangoes during the summer months) and Villa Lola features towering coconut trees through the deck as well as the open-air shower. With sustainability at the forefront, the villas provide UV-filtered drinking water to reduce plastic consumption, uses environmentally friendly cleaning products and conducts off-site recycling.
Wake up to jungle views and tropical foliage with the occasional visit from our island peacocks and monkeys, before hopping into your very own private plunge pool to cool off under the Sri Lankan sun.
Sam & Lola’s can be found in Dikwella town and is the perfect base for your trip if you are looking for some of the best surf beaches in Sri lanka, easy access to beach cafes and restaurants and plenty of tropical views.
We are sandwiched between two of the most beautiful beaches in south Sri Lanka: Hiriketiya beach and Pehebhiya beach. At Hiriketiya you’ll find a string of beach cafes and fun waves for beginner to intermediate surfers; the horseshoe-shaped bay is protected from wind and swell which makes it a perfect year-round swimming spot.
Alternatively, venture over to Pehebhiya, a long sandy beach on the fringe of Dikwella town for crystal clear water and a picturesque beach swing. After a cooling dip in the Indian Ocean take your pick from a number of hip cafes for the perfect flat white. Both beaches are within a 3-5 minute stroll, or hop in a tuk tuk if you’re in vacation mode.
Culture vultures can immerse themselves in Sri Lanka’s rich cultural history and practices – visit nearby Buddhist temples, learn to cook local Sri Lankan cuisine, visit Galle Fort (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) and explore a functioning tea plantation and factory. Wildlife enthusiasts are a short drive away from the world-famous Udawalawe and Yala national parks where you can observe wild elephants and leopards in their natural habitat.
